My name is Miriam Tewes. After studying medicine in Venezuela, I worked five years in the curative field of Internal Medicine. After moving to Germany my fascination for research grew. What once started as a visitor researcher at the Anatomical Institute of the University of Bonn, ended in a passionate career in clinical research.

At my first station, the CRO ClinResearch GmbH (Cologne), I learned to perform and value Medical Data Review and SAE-Reporting. I could extend this knowledge to the field of oncology later at the CRO ClinAssess GmbH (Leverkusen).

Comprehensive, responsible and interesting tasks were waiting for me at Bayer HealthCare Germany. Besides performing and supporting complex, global Phase II – IV studies I also supervised external CROs, created Medical Review Reports as well as planned and developed medical strategies. As a team leader I was responsible for the training of staff and also coordinated the review of eCRFs, listings, SAE reports, case narratives and coding.

After more than 20 years of extensive and intensive experience in pharmaceutical research, I founded the individual enterprise TEWES-Medical Review in order to devote myself as a freelancer specifically the area of Medical Data Review.
